I have a 96 honda civic dx with 78,000. Last week I had to shell out $850.00

for front end parts Was I soaked? Replaced cv axle\half shaft
Replaced rear wheel bearings
Replaced front axle bearings
Parts were $443.00 labor was $400.00
 
Sounds about right. You would have probably spent about a third to a half if you would have bought the parts and did the job yourself. They mark up the prices of the parts and you know they charge a lot for the work.
