I have a '93 Jeep Cherokee and the "felt" on the inside roof is falling off?

My brother in law says there's not much to do except staple it up w/a
staple gun. Is there any other way to fix this?? It's intact, but the adhesive has apparently lost its stickiness...Can I buy some kind of adhesive and stick it back up?? It's pretty pervasive (the whole thing is starting to come down, but right now it's just sagging) and bothersome.

Your B-i-l is right, it's called a headliner, and you can have it replaced by someone who does car ulpohstery, I've seen them with tacks, push pins, staples. You can try to do it yourself...try this link
 
You could use the staples but it would look kind of gawdy. My suggestion is to go to a craft store and pick up some spray adhesive get in there spray the roof then press the material back up there. If that doesnt work you might need to get a new headliner froma junk yard.
