I have a 55 Mercury. The original owner is dead, so how do i go about getting a title?

The car was given to me by moms friend. Her mother drove it back in the 60s, and it was parked after a minor fender bender. They have lost the title to it over the years. How do i go about obtaining one? And the original owner is deceased.
My bad I forgot that i might need to tell you what state. It and me are in Texas.
 
WHAT STATE?????

each one is different..I have titled stuff from scratch and reconstructed stuff from all free parts and got titles!
