I have a 55 gallon freshwater tank with 1 female kribensis, 1 brittlenose pleco, 1 zebra danio, 6 serpae tetras, and 1 male platies. What fish could I add? I'd like to know all of my options.
I don't want more danios, or platies. They were just my starter fish.

I'd probably first look at adding more kribensis. If you put six cichlids together (not worrying about if a certain number are male and female), there's a very good chance you'll get at least one pair to form. So I'd get five more kribs and see what happens.

I'm always thinking "the more the merrier" as far as tetras are concerned, so maybe add six more serpae tetras as well. Try not to do a whole different species of tetras at this point - you get better behavior from one large school of the same tetra type rather than sevearl small schools of different types. The fish seem happier that way and they thrive better.

With the kribs, the tetras and plenty of hiding spots, you could have a pretty interesting tank.

Good luck. :)

I would suggest,

6 more tetras of your choice

1 pearl gouramis

8 cory catfish

6 guppies

6 mollies

Also, although they do Ok with groups, danios prefer groups of 4 or more and with out being in a group they tend to pick on the other fish, so I would get rid of it.

Hope this helps!!!
