Motor is not the problem, what transmission are you going to use?
If you are going to use the 51 trans, it is set up for a torque tube drive line....would be best to use the rear end that came in the car or one up to 1954....
If you are using a trans 55 or later, that is setup for an open drive line
here I would use a 55-57 chevy rear...it is setup for leaf springs, and has the same wheel bolt pattern...
Note on the leaf springs, the center bolt is designed to be ahead of the rear axle, not centered under the axle.. if you install it the way it was in a 55, it will be two inches too far forward, and the wheels will not be centered in the wheel wells.....
