i have a 2006 honda civic and the engine block its craked?

i wanna know if they change it means that im gonna have a new engine??? or what exactly is an engine block ????

I work in a dealership and most likely they will replace the lower half or what they call a short block that's assuming nothing else was damaged.

The engine block is the main part of the engine housing all the other parts. The pistons, valves, etc are all parts that reside in or on the block. If it is cracked it will have to be replaced.

I'm not sure what the standard is but they may not replace the entire engine, likely just the block itself.

Need more info, is the dealer replacing it under warranty? If so they will put in a complete engine if its cost effective. It usually costs the dealers more to rebuild the motor due to the techs time being used. The dealer then usually sells the bad motor for what they can get.
