I have a 2005 Honda Jazz 56,000 ks When in reverse the automatic slips?

Went to Honda said i needed a new reverse gear price 200,000 Baht the car new cost 575,000 Baht When i was young we could adjust the auto clutch to stop it slipping If ther is a mechanic reading this could maybe help It seems funny that one gear is over 1/3 of the price of a new car
