I have a 2005 Dodge Magnum SE that won't start. The streets were flooded this morning and I took my boyfriend to work. The water was deeper than we anticipated and the car stalled in the middle of the road and wouldn't restart. We pushed the car back home in the pouring rain and after the car doesn't say anything at all but a long buzzing when I try to crank it. The battery is fully charged and there was a fairly decent amount of water in the floor board of the trunk where the batter is located. However the batter is dry as a bone and above where the water was settled. The water in the road came almost to your knees, so I'm fairly certain water could have gone up the tail pipe. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Hopefully you haven't sucked water into the motor.

Pull the dipstick out and see if there is any indication of water in the oil . Pull all the spark plugs out and take off the air cleaner and then try turning it over, if there is any water in the cylinders this will push most of it out, if water comes out then try and get some sort of a vacuum into the plug holes and suck as much out as you can. Put the plugs back in and try to start it. If it starts then shut it off right away and change the oil. If not then get it in somewhere warm and let it sit for a while to dry out. When you get water into the engine it can hydro lock it and do a lot of damage.

Lots of electronics in these cars so hopefully it was just something that got wet and not the engine.

take the distributor cap off and spray the inside with wd-40, wipe it out and install it. you probably got water in the ignition.
