suggestions? Worst of all the car is in park, and it is under my house which is on pilings. It is headed in also. Can anything be done so a tow truck could move it without hurting the car? I know nothing about cars!

Has the key benn hard to turn at any other time? If so then your key cylinder may be bad and have to be replaced. If this has not happened before then befero you turn the key try turning the steering wheel in one direction and then the other. Sometimes the wheel is in a bind against the key cylinder where it locks the wheel causing it to not wanting to turn. If if will not urn while moving the steering wheel back and forth then most likely the cylinder will have to be replaced. Hope this helps.

I assume that it is the IGNITION key for THAT car. (I do that all the time and try to start mt Ford PU with My Mazda RX7 key.)

Try moving the steering wheel. The steering wheel lock can jam the ignition switch so that it won't turn. Turning the steering wheel a little while turning the key will release the pressure.
