I have a 2003 Dodge Caravan with 77,000 miles. It take about 30 minutes of running before the heater gets hot enough to warm up the car. Once its warm it doesn't stay it blows cold and warm intermittently. Also the button on the dash that circulates the air either outside or inside doesn't seem to stay lit anymore.

Any idea would be appreciated. I live in Minnesota and its cold.

your thermostat could be stuck in the open position, thus always cooling the engine and not letting heat build up which is where the heat comes from when you turn your heater on the fan blows this heat into the passenger compartment. your thermostat could be working intermittently.

you need to change the inside control unit on it that will cause it to not allow the air to go where it suppose to go to,that and a bad thermostat will cause a great loss of heat on it,good luck
