I am buying a 2002 mercury mountaineer and im having serious problems with it. It doesn't want to start, it cranks but doesn't start. We have had the battery checked, starter & alternator (just in case) and all those things were good. It's funny cuz the only way we can get the suv to start is by boosting it and it will last us bout 3-4 weeks and then it wont start all over again. My alarm also goes off all by it's self out of now were!?! When we get in the suv and close the door the lights start flickering and it makes a dinging noise...I have nooooo idea what is wrong with this dumb suv....IF I WERE YOU I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM 02 MERCURY MOUNTAINEER'S!!!! PLEASE, i need help on finding out what is wrong with my suv I need it to get around even though I hate it!!! My credit really sux so I cant get a loan to get another car....believe me I already tryed that option. We have tried asking the dealership for a trade in or if they can put it in their shop and they said NO...so much for that option too! Im taking it to a mechanic in a few days but for now id like to knw if any one has any ideas what it could be....
