I Have A 2001 Ford Taurus FFV, How Can I Get The Best Fuel Economy?

It should rate 20 mpg. between hwy/city with the new EPA standards.
I do oil changes, fluids, filters, check tire pressure, etc.
But I'm still getting below the standard.
I should be getting 360 miles to a tank.
After it's dead center on the gage, I get between 125-150.
Some "add ons" can be more than they're worth.
But is there anything practical others do in order to maximize their mileage?
 
don't step on the gas heavily... drive slowly, I can't really help you but for some reason that helped me 5mpg more ... I have an escort though so I don't know... I'm sorry...
 
try adding a cold air intake or a vortec to your vehicle but mostly just barely press the accelerator have slow starts and slow brakings and that will improve it by 5-10 mpg
