I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4X4. Question is about tire/wheel size combination?

If I install a 3" body lift, what is the biggest tire/wheel combination that I can put on the truck. One tire company said 33's but another said 31" was the biggest. Any help would be appreciated. Oh, by the way, it has 16" wheels right now.
