Is all of the linkage hooked up correctly and tight? I saw something like this happen before. The shifter would move and click but the car's tranny would stay in park. I would guess that is what's wrong with yours. A blown tranny will ususally show signs way before it goes.

...in reverse or drive!!? This vehicle only has 90 thousand miles so I find it hard to believe that the transmission has already gone to hell but this is the only thing I can think would be wrong. Ive gone through basic inspection of wires and such where ever the transmission meets where you put the car into gear and everything seems to be in working order. I would really appreciate your input because id like to check all variables before I go through the tedious task of replacing my transmission. Thanks

if the car does not move when you put it on drive or reverse and you're sure the shift linkage is connected to trans and moving when you move the shifter than what else would it be but the transmission the fact that it has 90k miles is irrelevant i had a so called good car 2005 honda accord trans went bad and replaced by dlrshp at 20k miles
