...is stuck in first gear.? I have tried everything except dropping my transmission. My gear shifter lever is free though! So while my transmission is in first gear the shifter lever can move around freely but not actually perform any function. My problems started when my slave cylinder for my clutch went out while I was in first gear. I tried compressing the clutch to get it out and that is when the shifter came out but the transmission remained in first gear. I have replaced the slave cylinder and it is functioning properly, but still it will not come out of first gear. Before I try anything major could anyone offer some help? So to clarify I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of. The shifter will not just go back in. I am just hoping that someone might of had a problem like this or something simliar to it. Thanks

Sorry, I have no real answer for you.
I have never had a problem like this before, that is so weird that the gear shifter came out of the trans.
