The odometer doesn't engage until I hit about 20 mph, and that is when the truck will shift into 2nd gear....Can anyone tell me what is going on and how do I fix it?

im not 100% sure if your speed sensor is located on your tranmission or your hub assembly but if it is located on your tranny i could be goin bad and not regis

its not your speed sensor its the gage itself, in the firewall there is a strip of wiring controlling all of your instruments. the one connected to your speedometer. and your odometer. is usually the bad one in the 98-01 dodge rams persistent problem with many rams. once the strip circuit is replaced you should have it back and running in no time and if your odometer is not reading, i suggest you calculate how many miles or kms you have driven and tack them on because in canada, and most states. its illegal to have a odometer out by any number of miles, in case you might sell it or something....good luck...max
