...the problem? I was broke down on the side of the highway. My headlight was flickering and I had to pull over. When I did, my bike shut down and my battery was boiling. I replaced my battery and asked the Honda technician what could be the problem. He said that it was probably my rectifier. I thought it was the other way around. If my rectifier was bad, wouldn't my battery be dropping voltage? I need help here!
 
Your rectifier/regulator has failed, & is letting too much current thru, hence cooking the battery. It should be putting out 13 to 15 volts.
