...but when I press the gas it stops? It also makes the loud whining sound when stopped at like a stop sign more example of if I'm going really slow like 10mph, however it ALWAYS stops when the gas pedal is pressed down. I've been told that I should put power steering fluid in my car which I did. I've also been told it is my transmission, however several people pointed out that the transmission would be giving me fits all the time if that was really the problem. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeee help!!
 
I agree. It is most likely your drive belt slipping and making that noise. If you cannot remember the last time it was replaced, then it probably needs to be done.
 
Ya, my first thought would be that it was the power steering fluid. I have a 1995 Ford aerostar that like's to moan and groan when i am traveling under 10 mph. but if you say that you have checked it then it is more then likely a belt that is either slipping or to tight and needs to be replaced. should't cost too much money either
