I have a 1996 Dodge Dakota sport 3.9 ltr v6 with Tranny Problems?

My 96 dakota is my daily driver ive noticed once the cold weather has came in it shifts slower than normal it takes a minuet to kick in, one other thing ive noticed is on the highway (30 mile round trip all highway to and from work) my speed hits 60 and the truck rpms high without pushing forward then finally kicks in and allows me to continue accelerating. The truck has 207k on it and im positive the tranny has never been rebuilt, replace, etc i know ive done maintenance on the truck myself so i was thinking about putting in about a quart of Lucas Additive any other options or help, moneys tight and a master rebuild is not in my budget for a few months
