i have a 1994 chevy V-6 engine half ton pic up truck. And the engine won't

start, even fire up.? the engine back fired, then rumbled to a stop and now won't fire up/start. the engine turns over fine & can smell gas but just won't fire. Am i having coil trouble, possibly? Or? any help is most appreciated.
