In an emergency you can find a screw on the motor by the hydraulics that will drop the motor down. When you get the pitch where you use it most it will stay. The switch could be going out and I have replaced that a few years back. The cylinders can also fail and that could be a problem. The problem is most likely the sending switch. Hope that helps.
