...for her? I'm planning to buy a cold air intake system but I'm having trouble finding one made specifically for my generation of MR2 (1991 MR2/SW21). i was thinking of buying a K&N or a weapon R? any suggestions on which i should buy?

None.

Specifically for this reason: NO GAINS.

I hope you did even a few minutes worth of research?

A cold air intake, only provides 1-2 horsepower, through most of your usable power band. A new air filter, would do the same.

Unless you absolutely need to waste your money.

It's not gonna make a difference so which ever is cheaper. Adding a cold air intake to a naturally aspirated car isn't going to do much. I mean it could even subtract from your horsepower. At most your gonna gain like 1 hp, if not lose some. But it will change the sound a bit.

I would do an engine swap for a turbo first. Then buy an intake.
