i have a 1991 chevy camaro rs with a 305 tbi and a 700r4 trans it wont hold oil

not sure about the camaros but a common problem in the old fullsized blazers were that stupid gauge never worked. i had one where it would run 30psi when you first start it up but slowly go down to zero after about 20 minutes. i had that engine for about 3 years like that, highway driving and towing never no problems. finally got paranoid and bought a aftermarket gauge and no problems after that. try going that route those things are less then 20 bucks and only take a few minutes to put in depending on where your oil sending unit is located

This will bring me a few thumbs done, I'm sure, but in my experience, this is a common complaint with many sb chevy's - especially warmed up and idling in gear.
It needs to have the bearing clearances tightened up and a performance oil pump installed.
