The vehicle has done around 260000km and regularly serviced according to the service book including changing out the gearbox oil. I find that as I accelerate up to 40km/h there is a tendency for the gearbox to slip as it tries to engage 3rd gear in teh auto gearbox. After 40 km/h so long as I am gentle with acceleration etc and do not change down, there is no problem. I wonder if this is wear and tear or if there could be some way to fix it. I have recently changed the gearbox oil and found no improvement even though the old oil was quite black and dirty. Given the age and mileage of the vehicle it is probably going to be difficult to justify spending much on it to get it repaired so I am hoping someone will come up with a silver bullet. It's a great car otherwise and I'd be sad to see it go.
