I have a 1989 acura legend and I just put a new battery in it and the car wont start...

...it wont even click when? I turn the key over all it do is turn the dash lights on. I hear nothing from the engine. I know its not the battery because it was doing it before I brought the new batttery. what could cause this?
 
Check the starter fuse. If it's blown the car won't start. Also, try twisting the battery terminals to see if they're on tightly enough. If they move, tighten them down some more. Then, check the starter. Those three things should be where the problem will be.
 
Most likely it is the starter motor or solenoid. There could also be a fuseable link in one of the cables. Try this: turn on the headlights, have someone stand where they can see the headlights, turn the ignition switch to start, if the lights go out then the problem is one of the items I described above.
 
the next step is to make sure you have power to the starter use a cheap instrument from any radio shack to check your curcuit. next test the starter tomake sure the solidnoid is working. my guess at this point is that the starter motor is frozen. repair or replace with a rebuilt from any auto zone. they will want the old core in exchange. good luck!
