...starter sounds like it wants to engag? The starter is about a month old and so is the starter solenoid. I even put on a new negative cable and bolted it to the frame because the old one was tore up. But every time I put on the negative cable to the battery the starter gear makes noise. Like it is trying to engage the flywheel. All this happens with the key off. I have had trouble with the ignition key switch sticking in the forward poition. So could this be the issue???? Please help

Well, you have what is called a closed circuit. Your Ignition switch may be the source for your other starter giving up the ghost. If a Bendix gear remains engaged to the flywheel with the engine running, you'll toast the starter in a few minutes. The Ignition switch sits behind the tumblers, you won't need to get new keys. It isn't an easy job as you need specialized equipment to get to it. It is part of the anti-theft system on a car or truck. Remove the ignition wire from your silinoid then connect the ground cable. If your Bendix gear doesn't engage, its your ignition switch.
