i have a 1986 ford ltd crown victoria 5.0L,that will not start.?

i replaced the starter and the solenoid but the car still not start.when i turn the key you can hear a clicking/rattling sound from the solenoid.i was told it was the alternator and the battery.the alternator was replaced the car started but after i turned it off it wouldn't start.reaplaced the old battery with and nearly new battery car started but i turned it off again and it wouldnt start.i have no idea whats the problem.it seems the my battery is not charging
