now it does not like to? turn at all, I almost took out my mailbox this morning, some said it probably is just the belt (due to the squealing) others said the pump, I do not get paid for another 2 weeks and am broke, any quick fixes, or cheap repair that you know of? Thanks OH and is is dangerous to drive it with out the power steering?

I wouldn't go far to say don't drive the car :P Cause it sounds like you have power steering just it squeals. If this is the case than yes its your belt. If when you turn it seems stiff than it could be low steering fluid or a bad pump.

Go ahead and check fluid level. If high, then tighten up the belt by loosing the adjuster bolt on the pump and using a crow bar or other form of leverage to push it over til the belt gets tight then while holding it tighten the bolt.

Check to make sure the belt isnt too tight. You should be able to take your fingers and grab the belt and should have some give to push and pull. If it doesnt push or pull at all its too tight.

Over all though sounds like a belt or low fluid.

DO NOT DRIVE WITHOUT THE POWER STERRING!!! its really hard and you will wreck!!! check your power sterring pump fluid, if low, buy some, otherwise dont drive that car.

it sounds like the belt to me. there is no quick fix. if you need it, you need it.
