I have a 1985 Honda XL250R and I want to buy a new or rebuilt engine?

I currently own a 1985 honda xl250r, the bike is in great shape however the engine case has a large crack in the bottom and rather then rebuild the entire motor I would like to buy a new or used engine.

Problem is I can't seem to fine anyone who sells what I need! not just for this bike but for any...

I'm starting to think you can't buy just the engine? I found many sites with the parts I need, but it would be much more work to rebuild rather then replace.
Can you point me in the right direction I have never taken on a project like this but really want to get this bike back on the road!

Sorry but you won't find new or rebuilt, just used engines in wrecking yards.

Bikes from the 80's and 90's are parted out on ebay and by motorcycle wrecking yards everywhere.

It might take a few weeks, but check ebay and search for motorcycle wrecking yards in your area. The yards can put what you need on a "hot line" and find it at another yard.

Your engine is simple to ship, they can put it in a wooden crate and send it UPS ground most likely.

I would think I could find one in a couple of weeks.
