automatic (A727) transmission.? transmission (A727) (I think) It has the shifter on the dash, (looks like a floor shift mounted on the dash between the steering wheel and the radio) it is strong in 1st, and second, but all at once started slipping in 3rd and reverse. The truck has 74,000 original miles on it, as my dad bought it new in 1967 and it has been parked for 2 years. My question is this: does it need to be rebuilt, or is there a fix that will render the truck reliable until I can afford a rebuild?
