i have 2 punch1 speakers i hooked them to house stereo they sound blown but...

Most home units dont perform well under 8ohms. The problem is mis matched impedance. The problem is the home stereo. Running lower ohm speakers on a home unit designed for 6,8 or higher will make the speakers sound like crap. And yes often sound like they r blown. Also makes sure the home reciever is powerful enough or not too much power.
To test the ohm theory wire another 4ohm sub together in series to get 8ohms and then listen to them. This would require 2 subs on 1 channel but then u may not have enough power for 2. But this will still make them sound cleaner and then u will know the problem. If it still sounds bad then they may be underpowered or the sub is mechanically damaged from being over driven...basically loose or all wanga
