I HATE doing this...

Usually, I would use the search function, do my own work...that type of thing. I hate when people do what I'm doing. BUT...I'm on this computer in Iraq, and, it's way to slow and I truely don't have time to spend on the computer.

I'm coming home soon (thank god) and my parents want to get me a phone. I have two questions involved in the equation.

1. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can go to "somehow" quickly figure out the best company to use for my phone? And are there any suggestions (area & uses for phone will be listed below)

and 2. What is the best phone to get with that particular service? (from what I hear it's T-mobile, so, I guess the best phone to get with T-mobile would be the question)

Uses for phone: I'm stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC so I need the best service/reception in that area. But I live in Michigan and travel there pretty frequently and depend on my phone quite a bit, so, it has to work between NC and Michigan (preferably in the mountains too, but, beggers can't be choosers). As far as minutes go, I use my phone mostly nights and weekends so I need unlimited for that, but, as far as "anytime" goes I think 600-1000 is enough.

That's it, if you read this, thanks. I understand if I'm in the wrong forum, or you're tired of answering these questions, or whatever the case may be. But, thanks in advance, if you do have any advice.

Well plans are going to be the get more 1000 w unlimited nights and weekends for $49.99 , but the phone you might have to narrow down for me. What are you looking for in the phone? Do you need camera, flip, bar, slider? MP3 player? just tell what your ideal phone would have and then we can narrow it down 4 u.

hey thanks for answering my post.

I honestly don't care much about what's on the phone. A good camera would be nice, but, other than that a really really good speakerphone or something. When I'm on base, I can't have my cell phone to my ear, so..something that would allow me to talk/dial/answer the phone without actually using it. If that's even available.

The most important thing is that it has really good reception, everything else, comes in second.

Thanks again,
Jeff

Check out the samsung t619 a thin flip phone with a 1.3 megapixel camera. The only thing i can think of that you could use to not have the phone up to your ear would be bluetooth which this phone has. For the best reception it is a quadband phone too. So i think it meets your needs. Also with a contract it is only $50
