2. Perspective: Your absolutely right about perspective. This small fall is alot easier to handle that the fall I had a few years ago when I owned my 900ss/sp. I just got a brand new paint job on the bike, with the new race body, and a custom helmet to match, and BAM... 1 1/2 months after the paint job, some tools decided to kick over some road construction signed on highway 9, going towards Santa Cruz, and guess who was coming along all proud with his new paint job and leathers like a bat out of hell....

On the Motowheels subject... That store is on my way home...

Hi Pedro,
If the Scratches are just in the Clear Coat,
Buy 1500 grit Sandpaper (Wet/Dry) and
Mequiars Fine Cut Cleaner #6

1. Lightly wet sand the Scratches until you don't see them
(Be carefull on the edges of the Fairings not to go through the Clear or the Paint)

2. Then us a buffer with the Mequiars Cleaner...
(Also be carefull not to apply to much pressure with the buffing wheel) you could burn the Clear..

As everyone else said, it can always be worse I suppose. I was trailering my bike into have the voltage regulator recall replaced. I was loosening one of my tie down straps just a little when all of a sudden the entire strap loosened completely. All of the tension from the strap on the other side pulled the bike down onto the trailer rail shattering my front fairing and fairing stay, breaking my hand brake in two and bending my foot brake a little. All in all I got quite lucky but wanted to slap myself for not holding the handlebar while loosening the strap.

Now the bike is used and you can ride it like you stole it for a change!
I feel your pain I put my foot in oil going for the kickstand once and it landed on it's side @ 600 miles, bent the brake peddle, put tiny scratches in the clutch cover, bar end weight, brake lever and lower muff a bit.
 
I feel the pain as well. I broke my rhs fairing when I dropped the bike while driving out the garden..few weeks later I took off a good size paint off the tail while trying to move the bike on my ramp (I still don't know how I did it, I don't even wear rings and I did not hit anywhere). Since then I bought a full set of CF bodywork, a brand new tail from Ducati Italy (expensive!!!), 3 lower fairings one being from factory, and a full rhs used fairing off the bay I admit I've gone a bit too far, but it is good to ride without fear of scratching those shiny sexy plastic
