I hang my head in SHAME.

I know I'm setting myself up for a load of punishment here, but I have to sacrifice my pride for the sake of my bike.

So I live in North Cali. Sacramento area to be exact, and every once and a blue moon we get this thing call "Tully Fog". It's THICK.... like cant' see to the end of your driveway thick.

Anyhow, the fog had cleared up by morning and the day was set to warm up, and so in true fashion I suited up, and decided that I'm going to continue grasping the last riding days I have before the rain comes. And as I was pulling out of the garage, and pulling into the driveway, my foot hit my lawn which was nice and slick with a good layer of dew from the fog the night before.

And then it happened. Right in my F*** driveway... I slipped on my ass, and dropped my Duc, right in my driveway..

Now nothing major happened but my baby's body is no longer cherry. And I was wondering if you guys can recommend some products that I can buy that would help me buff out and polish "Betty's" scratches, so she can look like the Sexy Bitch that she was meant to be....

Thanks in advance for any help.

NOTE: I currently have no buffing or polishing products so recommendations on everything would be appreciated.

Pedro

not sure how bad the scratches are, but colorite makes good touch up paint, or you can go with the toyota super red witch looks exactly the same for a lot less. I dropped my old zx10 in the driveway once while it was warming up, went to shut the garage and watched helplessly as it started rolling backward ( I didn't think it was on that much of a incline). Man I was so pissed. Live and learn I guess.

I'll charge up the camera, and get some pics up tomorrow. The scratchs aren't too bad. Just painful to have pulled such a F*n newbie move.

your in sacramento and asking in other posts about bar end turn signals, have you been to motowheels yet... were local to you man... come by and I have stuff to fix up the fairings as well and if they wont buff I have a painter who could touch up cheap, and he is really good, paints all of our bikes and has fixed a good amount of fairings for me personally

Don't feel bad. A few years ago I was with a group and we had to make a Y turn on a very narrow street. I was rolling at a walking speed and went to put my foot down for the back up. My pant leg snagged the peg and wham, it was down at 2 mph. Effed the fairing and mirror, and bent the shifter straight down.

We all have those stories.

I slipped off the loading ramp putting the 1098 in the truck last year and broke the tail section, this year a buddy was transporting it for maintenance in his mechanics work truck and a cabinet fell on it, broke the faring stay, tail again, front faring and one side panel.

My old 750 SS went down as I was idling forward at the gas pumps, the rubber hose that rings the bell looped my foot and down I went, bike laying on top of me while some old woman behind me just stared. Only a broken turn signal on that one.

Fix it and move on, at least it's cherry got busted gently, check the track riding bouncing aussies to hear some worse ones.

Call it perspective, but at least you didn't take a long sweeping corner at 35mph into some gravel on the centerline then have to eject in a grassy lot, then find out you have a punctured foot, to which you drive your beaten beauty to the hospital, get patched up, then drive home only to have insurance find a crack in the powder-coating and trash the bike.

....matter of perspective.

If you don't hook up with Nick for a meet and his offer to help, try a clay-bar. Clay-bars, sold at many auto parts places like checkers, napa etc. are amazing at ridding slight scratches, paint transfers etc. I've used them for years, they last forever, and just recently had my 6yr old Zaino Brothers clay-bar stolen
