This test is one of the most important tests they perform before surgery. I had one too and it was the most pain I think I have ever felt in my life. I had a male nurse sitting at my head holding both my hanRAB while I cried and screamed. No anesthesia, no twilite, and they had asked me not to take any pain killers that morning before I went. They missed on one shot and it completley nurabed my leg down to the toes-it was literally dead weight. Two male nurses had to get me off the table and into a wheel chair-then onto the CT scan table. I never recovered from the impact of that test till surgery.
BUT>>>>>
It tells the doctor EXACTLY where he neeRAB to be inside yout back without tearing you completely open. It makes the surgery itself less invasive because the trouble has been pin-pointed. I would have called around to see if anyone else did it with sedation if I had known, but they really need to know where the pain is the greatest so they have to recreate it.
I am so sorry you had to go through this.
Blessings,
