My friend showed up at my house and brought me two fish in a plastic bag.. What do I do with them? Do I put them in a certain bowl? What do i do with the bowl first? Certain water?? Idk what to do? I have fish food but I don't know what to do.
gold fish is the kinda fish they are.
what kinda bowl?

What fish is it. If its a tropical fish than you should use a heater. Also its good to use water conditioner. Its really hard right now since you got a fish and your not even prepared. Yuo have to know what size tank your fish needs. Also its good to use water conditioner because it might have harmfull metals in the water. And you need gravel and an object so the fish can hide so its less stress on the fish.

They do like tanks and some people will suggest a 40 gallon tank but I doubt you'll pay hundreds of bucks for some friend's prank. You should just get the largest thing you can afford. They can be fine in a 10 gallon but honest if you don't got the money just put them in the largest food bowl in the house and pay 3 bucks for food.

well goldfish arent such a big deal, what kind of friend shows up to someones house and dumps animals on them? sounds stupid and aggrivating. if its 2 regular goldfish go out and buy a 20 gallon tank a filter for them possibly a stand unless you have the counter space, some gravel to correctly fit your tank and water dechlorinator to take out the chlorine in the tap water you use, unfortunately the 2 bucks your friend spent for some reason just cost you 50 bucks, and the fish wont live long enough for you to get the materials and wait the week-month it takes to cycle a tank, gosh thats 2 deaths on you and your friends hands

Make sure you have the right food for your fish. And, your fish should have a desent sized boul depending on what size it is.

You will need to get atleast a 40 gallon tank for two goldfish WITHOUT any other fish. I know it sounds ridiculous but a goldfish can grow to be a foot long! So they would really be happy in a 40 gallon tank. Until it cycles (google nitrogen cycle) You can put them both in a 5 gallon bowl but try not to. If you dont want to get a 40 gal (with a filter, hood, etc.) then i would take the goldfish back because it is really cruel to keep them in a bowl for a long time.

Hope I helped!

put them in some sort of a glass bowl with water. not just tap water but something like rainwater or distilled water that you can buy. Some rocks at the bottom would be nice but thats optional. Also, you might not want to put the two fish together. It depends on what kind they are. If they're goldfish its fine, beta fish...its not. And if they are two different kinds you will definitely need to do some research to find out otherwise one might kill or eat the other.
PS: only give them a TINY bit of fish food!
