Hey guys,

I havent wrote in a while.For those who didnt know what was going on..For the past now 8 months,i have had the feeling of a tight knot/lump in my throat.Which has turned into many more problems/sore throat/chest pain/shortness of breath & many different kinRAB of meRAB that have not worked..After seeing a ENT & GI Dr,both bascially brushed me off with acid reflux & aniexty & one even told me i had a bad case of globus & nothing was stuck in my throat,but for all of us who live with this & suffer everyday it very hard to live & enjoy life.So i once took my health for granted being 27 years old & feeling like i'm falling apart.So,i took it upon myself to go to Winston Salem bapist Hospital & i saw a Doctor that specailizes in my symptoms & they did some testing & it showed that I had alot of pressure in my throat.THey stuck 2 tubes down & she measured & on a normal person the range should be around 65 & on me my pressure was over 165.So,apparently my muscle never wants to relax in my throat which has caused me to have this awful feeling of something stuck there.Then they wanted to do the 24 hr ph monitor test,which i could not do.I kept gagging & couldnt go through with having a tube placed down there for 24 hr.So i backed out.However,the Dr said by doing th UES testing she was able to tell enough info.So i'm schedule for surgery on August 1st,she said they have had alot sucess with botox injection & while shes down there she will dialate my throat.I'm very nervous about all this,but trying to think postive that this will help me.I have been misreable for 8months now.So the thought of some relief at this point sounRAB hopeful.My question is is there anyone who has had this done & has something postive to say.ALso,i have had a knot on the back of my neck.Like i swollwen lympnode that will not go down.THis came up the same time all of this started.They have done a X-ray,but i'm still worried about it.I've been having some neck pain & it kinda hurts or maybe its because i'm just thinking about it.Is it normal to have something like this & how long does it take to go away.Or should i have some other testing done on this.THey said to just a keep a eye on it,but anytime you have a knot or something its hard to just leave it alone.JUst need some peace of mind.THanks for reading & i hope this helps someone who doesnt know whats going on...Lisa
 
Well, I certainly hope the surgery can help you! That is crazy- I too have been suffering exactly 8 months! And, oddly enough, I go in on Aug 1st for an endoscopy procedure and the GI said he would dilate my throat when he went in, although no measurements were taken. Based on what I told him he felt he would most likely need to dilate it, so I'm a little nervous but I can't even drink water in the morning- no food, no anything even if its been a few hrs since I've been awake, or it all comes back up and I feel like I'm choking. I too hope for answers soon, but its good you finally got a Dr that's listening.

I posted an update! Got my procedure done-How did yours go? I feel like if I could just get both my allergies "post nasal drip" crap AND my acid under control I'd be able to breath for once like a regular person!!
 
hey there, i was thinking of you on Friday when i had my procedure done.Right now i'm not feeling to great.I kinda down.I thought this was going to make me feel better/however i feel much worse.I had to go back to Winston-Salem because i had some bruising & swelling come up after the botox injection in my throat & i still feel like there is something in my throat & now its been hard to eat all fooRAB.How are you doing with your stuff?? Lisa
