I got my period! Dance competition on Saturday and I know I will have it!?

Okay so I have my first period and I have a dance competition on Saturday and Sunday. I don't know if my mom will let me wear tampons, but I can't wear underwear. I told my dance teacher and she said, " Well you can't wear pads because we will get points off if you have vpl (visible panty line). I have my solo and there is white shorts! What if it goes through?

So 3 questions:
1. Tampons?
2. Going through white shorts?
3. MOM?
ARE YOU CRAZY! I HAVE TO GO!
 
tell ur mom to pls let u wear a tampon or wear underwear and get points off or just dnt go say u had badddd cramps and were throwing up alot
 
MOM hahaha .. well i think tampons aren't actually good to use on your first periods.. but if it's and emergency .. then i guess tampons .. or you can try pads and if it goes through then you'll know the next time (:
 
Explain the situation to your mom... go shopping tonight or tomorrow and get a multi-pack ( diff sizes) if this is your first period ever... slim ones wont be as uncomfortable as the larger ones....start practicing now.. it may take a few times to get it right. I was so embarassed to even tell my mom when i started my period.. my friend told her lol cause i started it at her house... dont feel uncomfortable asking your mom... all women go through these things...
 
tell mom asap, and get some tampons tonight so u have some practice putting them in before Sat. and Sun.




a tampon shouldn't leak through, but if you are really worried about it, put it in right before you get on stage, and check it right after you get off..........also you could use a tissue wadded up, to hide leakes, but your shorts might show a bump there.

Use tampons. They are easy to use and youll be fine. Just dont be nervous and relax the first time. Itll work out with the shorts. and just tell your mom. Shes your mom she HAS to understand. and if it really bothers you do the visible panty line with pads since its your first time. honestly. i would just do the pads and underwear. i wont care about points getting taken off if i make sure i wont leak in front of people. my dignity is more important than a couple points on a grade. ya know?
 
Okay, first off, your period might stop before Saturday. Some periods only last a couple of days the first time.

You might not be ready for tampons, but if it's the only way, just do it. No sense getting points off just to wear a pad. Ask your mom now.

If you put a tissue in your shorts to catch overflow, it shouldn't show.
