i got macbook pro i m trying to jail break 3gs but not worki for me?

hi guys i m having problem jail break iphone 3gs i did all step what this link told to do iClarified - iPhone - How to Jailbreak Your iPhone 3GS Using PwnageTool (Mac) [4.0]
i can succeed in build ipsw but when i try to flash with custom ipsw i can not flash its give me error like 1610 something like that what to do what i m doing wrong can anyone help me out?

heard some one my friend say when flashing iphone, Apple server will block your request for customise files to your iphone...
 
is it true?
iphone 3gs v4.0 can jailbreak with macbook possible or not?
plz experts clear this doubt..
i m going to purchase macbook for this perpose only
