You have linear pull brakes or V brakes as they are sometimes known, yes it can be done but is your fork set up for that? If you are sitting on the seat of the bike and you look down to the left it is on this side likely that you would be able to mount the disc brake caliper. If you see two holes that are probably threaded then you can do it. You have to measure the distance between these two holes in millimeters either 51 or 72mm from center to center of each hole, more than likely 72mm. If this is the case then you just have to figure out which brake you want but you would be better off doing this on the rear brake rather than the front and be warned, The cost of a front brake will run you a minimum of $50 for the caliper, rotor and brake lever not to mention labor if you cant do it yourself. OOps, I did forget the wheels didnt I. You certainly do need them!
