Hi there. First of all, I'm really sorry to hear that you have been in an accident. From my experience, most. people will tell you that the door needs to be replaced. They just don't want to spend time bending or work on it. I live in MA and they charge me 60 bucks and hour to fix my car for their labor. A brand new door will cost you around 500 to 600 dollars depends on model and year of your car plus their hourly labor. You need to ask them how much they charge for their labor hourly cause if the door can be fixed and it does not take them many hours to fix, it should work in your favor. Nobody wants to pay more than they reasonably have to,right? And the most important thing is to shop around. Shopping around when it comes to fixing a car can sometimes save you so much money. The other way that I'd like to recommend you to do is to ask them if you could provide them the particular part of the car and they only charge you for the labor. Some people go out to junk yards or go online looking for the part that needs to be replaced and bring it over to those mechanics just to save money cause getting parts from junkyards or certain websites is the other way to save money as well. They really are cheaper. Make sure that they would honor your part. Some places might not want to do that because they need to give you warranty of their work. In order to do that, they can only order parts from the car dealerships that they are doing business with. Good luck.

At times like this it may be best to let your insurance company work it out with the body shop. Collision repairs usually run in the thousands,even for something that doesn't look that horrible.
