I got a state jail felony and i didnt know state jail was prison.?

OK, look, you need some clarification on terms.

A felony is a crime punishable by more than a year in prison.
A misdemeanor is a crime punishable by up to a year in jail.

Jails are run by the county. Prisons are run by the state.
Jails are for misdemeanors. Prisons are for felonies.

Get a lawyer.
 
It depends on what the judge says normally there is a minimum sentence and a maximum sentence. If you plead guilty usually the judge will be a little easier on you since you didn't make them go though a trial.
 
Im only eighteen idk if i can make it in the pin. My charge was anuathorized use of a motor vehical its my first felony do you think i could get probation??
