...cellphone promotion? Ok so basically I got a call from Bell Canada and the guy told me I could get a free cell phone( LG rumor) and he needed my name, address and DOB and I gave him the info.
Then he asks me for SIN number and I got suspicious and he said he just needed it for a credit check and if I wasn't comfortable with it I could give him my drivers licence number or credit card number or my passport details.
I asked him to call back tomorrow because I didnt want to be stupid and give away information like that.
So is this a scam (the call was from an unknown caller and the accent suggested it was from India)?
