I got a 550 on my SAT II in World History?

I feel really stupid now. I took the AP in European History this year, and there was no SAT Subject Test in it, so i decided to take the World History one instead. I didn't study for it, but I still feel really stupid. How bad is this mark? Should i avoid letting colleges see it? Is that even possible? Should i retake it? I mean, i never even took a course in World History exclusively (except for 9th grade) so I'm not sure if it really matters. A little guidance please?
 
550 is an average score, but you probably could do better, so retake it. I would advise you to get a Kaplan World History prep book. Kaplan is really good in preparing you for these types of tests if you seriously study and want to do well.

I would not give it to colleges. Wait till you retake and do better to send it. And, the score is possible.
 
I didn't have a World History course before I took the test too. Even my 9th grade course was only on Modern World History. I was really worried, and I did make a few stupid mistakes I really regret, but I still got a 770.
The best book to get is the College Board's Official Guide. You can either get the guide to all SAT Subject Tests or the one to US and World History (the two are included in one book).
I would recommend retaking it. 550 is below average (though only slightly) on World History, and I think you can do better. Just study. When I took it, I reread my entire 9th grade notebook, and that helped me immensely.
However, if you can take other Subject Tests for which you have taken the courses, you should take those instead of retaking.
Most colleges accept Score Choice, so if you don't send it, they won't see it.
 
It's average, but you should've studied. You can try to re-take it if your time permits. Also, you can take another SAT II to use that in requirement for SAT II (so tell the admission that 550 is an "extra" SAT II and should not be used for admission).
