if you're only looking for new speakers, without an amp and subwoofers, you should get rockford fosgate speakers. they are fricken sweet and sound awesome. the quality of your music will triple with these speakers, and if you don't need that overwhelmingly loud music, then you won't need an amp with these.
dude, i think that you would need a split system for clarity in the front and back....thereafter you kick it up with 2 12" subs, each about a 1000 to 1200 watt...you could use a 3500 watt Mono block amp to run all the sound.....
