i got a 05 ford focus zx5 (2.0) my clutch apparently went out i would like

some advice please.? I was driving on the highway and after i got off my car acted like the clutch had gone out. So i called a couple mechanics to see if any of them could look at my car. When i got a hold of one of them they told me my cars (clutch) went out. Needless to say i was relieved that it wasn't my transmission. So i asked him to price it out for me. He told me he called four different shops and apparently my "clutch" that i need to be repaired was a "special order" and would cost me 650.00 just for parts let alone another 550.00 for labor and resurfacing. Now in past events my clutch and such haven't cost anything near that even with having someone put it in for me. I'm open for comments thoughts and mechanics in the area. If anyone has anything to say to help me let me know thanks
 
You could try to check with a couple different shops to see if there labor rate is cheaper. The $650 for parts is way too high. More like $150-200 for a clutch kit and $500-650 for labor and $80 to have the flywheel resurfaced (it would be best just to get a new one for an extra $20).
