I go to Army Basic Training in 6 weeks and I have asthma, will I be able to sneak in...

...any meds? I have had asthma for my entire 29 years of life, although I haven't had an asthma attack in over ten years or so. Recently I have been taking a med. called advair, once every day or two. With this medication, I can max out my sit-ups, push-ups, and can run my 2 mile under 15:00. Serving my country in the Army means a lot me, so I with held the asthma info when joining. I need to bring my meds, but not sure what to do.

1) Do they pat us down and will I be able to sneak in any meds?
2) Will they allow me to use and meds?
3) If they find out that I have had asthma, will I be dishonorably discharged?
 
No, they make you put all of your cloths you come in with and the things you come with in a bag, and you get all military issued cloths, and every item has a place.
 
Do not bring any medications with you - even those proscribed by your doctor. Not mentioning your affliction of asthma in your sworn statements to qualify for enlistment, is a FELONY. You can get out of this by saying you had asthma (hay fever) as a child and have been symptom free for over 10 years. Do your boot camp thing until you start wheezing and cough and are short of breath. The Medicos on base will give you meds. You can go to pharmacy on base and get medications for various things (insect bites and sunburn, etc)

You're on a slippery slope man. I went to basic in 2001 and I don't really remember what the heck happened there. Let me tell you though, even if you make it through basic don't let anyone know you're taking this stuff. If I was your NCO I would tear you a new arsehole.
