...cannot get rid of Norton.? I cannot get rid of Norton. Is there a connection? Norton pops up all the time, but it is not listed on "add/remove" programs, yet the icon comes up on bottom menu bar with my other programs. Is there a connection between error messages and the "remnants of Norton?

Get the norton removal tool and use it.
Also, use ccleaner to clean up trash.
