i gauge my ear yesterday, i went from size 8 to 4 & now its swollen & my neck

has been hurting, normal? so i went from 8g to 4g.
as soon as i got them done my ear hurt an also my neck and its red around the gauge, is it normal?
how long will te swolling take to go down?
thaks for all your help
