i found a cellphone and nobody claimed it, can i get it activated without

getting into trouble? I found a Verizon cellphone and i turned it in to the police station, the person who it belonged to reported it stolen and were notified by the cops that they have it. Well the person hasn't came back for it and its been almost 2 months...its a cool phone and i also have verizon....So can i get it activated under my plan without getting into trouble?
 
Nope if the police traced the owner and the original owner has failed to claim it then it is yours. Lucky for you you are not in the uk. My son found a very nice sleek lg phone and I took it to the police station for him (He was 4 at the time). When I asked when I could claim it back for him we were told `You can`t. All phones go back to the manufacturers.` He never even got a thank you note
